Fish Farming Technician

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Fish Farming Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks involved in the operation and management of a fish farm.

Responsibilities:

 Monitor and maintain the health and wellbeing of fish in the farm, including feeding them at appropriate intervals.

 Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning tanks, filters, and water systems to ensure optimal conditions for fish growth.

 Implement disease prevention measures and promptly identify and treat any health issues that may arise.

 Assist in the breeding and spawning process, including monitoring and recording reproductive activities.

 Follow safety and environmental protocols in fish farming activities.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of fish biology and aquaculture practices gained through a degree or diploma in fisheries, aquaculture, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working on a fish farm or in a similar setting, demonstrating a strong understanding of fish husbandry techniques.

Proficiency in basic water quality testing and knowledge of water filtration systems used in fish farms.

Ability to handle and restrain fish effectively, while preserving their welfare and minimizing stress.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members and communicate any issues or concerns.
