Aquaponic Technician
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Aquaponic Technician to join our team. The Aquaponic Technician will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting aquaponic systems.
Responsibilities:
Regularly inspect and maintain the aquaponic system, including monitoring water quality, adjusting pH levels, and ensuring proper nutrient balance.
Monitor plant growth and maintain appropriate nutrient levels in the water.
Manage the well-being of the fish population, including feeding, monitoring water conditions for fish health, and carrying out regular checks on fish behavior.
Identify and resolve any issues that may arise within the aquaponic system, such as plumbing problems, pest infestations, or disease outbreaks.
Maintain accurate records of system parameters, plant growth, fish health, and any relevant observations, to support ongoing monitoring and improvement of the aquaponic system.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in aquaculture, hydroponics, biology, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Aquaponics Technician or similar role.
Strong understanding of aquaponic systems, including familiarity with nutrient cycling, plant and fish needs, and maintaining water quality.
Proficiency in operating and maintaining aquaponic equipment, including pumps, filters, aquaculture tanks, and grow beds.
Meticulous approach to monitoring and maintaining system parameters, with the ability to recognize and address any deviations or issues promptly.
Resourcefulness in troubleshooting and resolving problems associated with the aquaponic system, demonstrating a proactive approach to identifying and implementing solutions.
